He caused black marble and obsidian to be imported from the far north, white marble ... to be sent from the near north, silver from the Canthrip, brass and good steel from the forges and foundries of Tirenga to the east, glass from the south, and teak from Tree-by-the-Sea in the far northwest (this last being sent by ship to Adrilankha before coming overland, as it was still impossible to pass through the heartland owing to Kana's continuing influence) Not in the far north, near north, east, south or far northwest. The only places we're told silver is mined are Aelma (northeast of Dragaera City): She used silver that came all the way from Aelma, which is a city on the Chareq River near some mountains called Daeld, which is where the silver was found in the ground. and Tirma, in the northwest: In the area around Lake Shalomar--right where Tirma is--they discovered silver. First thing that happened was an influx of miners, the second thing was an influx of merchants selling to the minors [sic]. There's also an island southwest of Hartre on Steve's Map named Silver Island. Lake Chensome good wine land in near Lake Chen ChengriIn Fornia, possibly between Fornia proper and Southmoor (if Southmoor is Sethra's base of operations). He sent his third division all the way around the other side of Chengri to cut me off from my base of supplies. Clovenrocks Woodhe was the Viscount of Clovenrocks Wood, which was in a far northeastern province, if I could trust a memory that wasn't my own. CloverBaroness of Clover ... received word ... that fifty teckla had to be driven off [her] estate, where they had come from [Dragaera City] because there is no bread there. Assuming the Teckla did not experience an Exodus-like expulsion, Clover is probably very close to Dragaera City. CloverhillCount of Cloverhill CobbletownVillsni of Cobbletown Coldwater Lake[Roannac] had a view of the Coldwater Lake and much of the valley [from her porch at Three Seasons manor] Within sight of Three Seasons, but the direction is not given. Cook's BluffCook's Bluff ... Gevlin Pass Corpet County[Arylle] was settled ... by ... a certain Lyorn named Corpet ... the area had been unsettled for countless years except for coal-mining not far away because, when viewed from the hills, the district had an ill-favored look, appearing at once marshy and barren. Yet when Corpet, who had been driven from his lands to the East by certain political and economical pressures which originated with the Emperor's desire to have more direct control of the lines of coal in Corpet's old land (still known as Corpet County), the look proved illusory, and the region proved to be wonderfully rich farmland, at least as excellent as those lands on the Great Plains which surrounded the Collier Hills, with soil and climate ideally suited to wheat, maize, and various obscure but nutritious legumes. In Release 2 of the Map of Dragaera, I thought Corpet County was east of Dzur Mountain, but the capitalization of "the East" suggests it might closer to Easterner lands. (see also Tirenga) Creigsheada cliff near Creigshead CrosswayNumerous roads crisscross Mistyvale County: from Riverwall to Steps, from Brambles to Crossway, from Nacine to Gridley, from Hillcrest to Ripples, from Lottstown to Gorge. Moreover, these roads have not been carefully named; to be sure there is the Gridley Road, and the Lottstown Road, but there are three distinct roads called Hillcrest Pike and two that are known generally as the Brambles Road ... the Pins [an inn or tavern] between Crossway and Hillcrest ... another ... found on the Hillcrest Pike not far from Deepwell, is the Deepwell Inn [the Blue Fox] ... Mistyvale [County] had been part of Arylle, Luatha, and even Hampers at various times. Cukros ElofaWritten along the west side of the Map of the East in Brokedown Palace, just east of the Wandering Forest, but doesn't appear to be associated with an exact location. Means "Sugar Magnolia" according to Cracks and Shards. CuttertownChersa of Cuttertown home | contents | previous | next | index Questions? Comments? Please contact me at dragaera [at] bryann.net.
